Comment of the Day!

We have eaten at Latin restaurants all over town and in Ocala. Mi Apa is one of the best. The items we have tried are the best. Have to say their Cuban Sandwich is 2nd to any other rest. in G-ville.

The Daily GLOB

Happy Monday!

Good morning and Happy Monday GLOBers!  You better enjoy the warm days we have another serious cold weather storm heading our way that will reduce the high temperature reading in Gainesville by the end of the week with a high of only 76 by Friday.  To be honest I am kind of enjoying the colder temps . . .  not the rainy king but the sunny temps in the low 60s.

The Hipp Unplugged: Fireflies - Tonight at 7:30 the Hippodrome Theatre is excited to announce the fifth production in our Hipp Unplugged reading series: Fireflies, written by Donja R. Love and directed by Ryan Hope Travis.  “I was moved by Mr. Love’s willingness to imagine, amid the terror of the times…other kinds of lives than the ones that history books offer.” —The New York Times.  The Hipp Unplugged aims to bring Gainesville even more great theater that is more challenging than what we would be able to display with our regular mainstage season. With this series, we hope to also give a voice to underrepresented playwrights and provide our company and artistic community a place to come together and grow.

Gainesville English Country Dance - Tonight at the United Church of Gainesville at 7:00 you can come try the dancing that began in the 1500’s and is done around the world today. This is an open dance for all. No partner, special dress or experience necessary. All dances are taught, walked through and called. Live music. There is a lesson before each Monday session at 6:45. Open to all $5 adults/$3 students plus a tip for the band,

Florida Museum Selfie Day - Wednesday if Florida Museum Selfie day. For years, Museum fans have snapped photos of themselves in front of their favorite exhibits and collections to share with the world.  Have fun capturing your personal take on the exhibits. Post your selfies on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter from Jan. 11-15 and use the hashtags #museumselfieday and #FloridaMuseum to let the world know you’re joining in the fun and that you’re at your favorite natural history museum! The most creative selfie will WIN an Individual Museum Membership!

It;s Monday a new week where are you eating lunch GLOBers? Tell me where you'll be and I can deliver all the brain food you can consume fresh and ready to enjoy . . .

Harvest Thyme Cafe

Bright, clean, friendly, and accommodating is how I would describe what is turning this café into one of the more popular Magnolia Park restaurants. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day, every day Harvest Thyme has added grass fed beef hamburgers to its menu.- READ MORE

Vegan isn't best plant based diet

Sticklers are quick to tell us that a plant-based diet is not necessarily a vegan diet. And then, this week we learned from U.S. News that a vegan diet is not even the best plant-based diet. Not even close.  - READ MORE

Eating is so intimate. It's very sensual. When you invite someone to sit at your table and you want to cook for them, you're inviting a person into your life.
