Went to Civlilization with friends once for a birthday and we had a great time! I had the gumbo, which was delicious, if a little salty for me. But the deserts are what I really remember. We ordered five or so to share and we had to roll ourselves out the front door afterwards. Service was slow (or slowly paced) BUT I don't mind this- as long as I plan for it (see: Satchels- just never go when you are starving). One of the nicest restaurants in Gainesville, IMO. I should go back soon.

Good morning GLOBers. Are you already thinking about lunch? Lunch time is just about when the international corporate offices of the world wide Gainesville Lunch Out Blog start to warm up. By 4 or 5:00 it's down right toasty here. According to the weather people we are looking at ninety degree temps the next three days before that weather front is supposed to bring us relief in some rain. Come on GLOBers we can tough the heat out three more days before relief gets here.
The GLOB's Free Lunch for Two contest is tomorrow with free lunch at the Smokehouse Downtown. Smokehouse owner Mike Nabers and his team of Chefs have created an interesting menu of really tasty lunch items including a pulled pork quesadilla, and a really good low country pulled pork egg roll.

The GLOB Master and the GLOB Historian are heading out to lunch today but first I get to inspect the good Dr. Roosenraad's newly created butterfly garden. I have seen a few more butterflies this year than last, but I think we are going to need some serious rain to get the pretty winged population up to Florida standards. I will report back tomorrow on our designated lunch stop visit today.
